Driving Directions:

From Orlando
Recommended Route from Orlando International Airport

The recommended route from Orlando Airport to Salt Springs costs $4.75 in tolls.  Mapquest will suggest a different route, however, we believe the recommended route to be easier and less likely to get you lost in the forest. Remember: Once you are in the forest, your cell phone will not work. Once you are on the Turnpike, this route will get you here simply by taking the appropriate exit, covering some distance and making 1 left turn – it’s that simple. Along this route you will find the Turkey Creek and Okahumpka Service Plazas.

  • Leave the Airport via Exit 1B to 528 West. (Exit 1B is within literally SECONDS after 1A. If you miss it, you will have to turn around. As you come up to Exit 1A, know that 1B can be missed quite easily.)
  • Drive West through two tollbooths ($.75 each), then take Exit 4 for the 17/92/441 Orange Blossom Trail and Florida Turnpike. Take the Florida Turnpike North toward Ocala.
Go through an additional tollbooth ($.75)
  • Stay on Florida’s Turnpike for 54 miles, then Merge onto I-75 (this happens without you doing much if you are in the middle lane).
  • Stay on I-75 for about 25 miles.

Take the SECOND Ocala exit, Exit 352 and bear Right (40 East).  Stay on S. R. 40 East (which is also Silver Springs Boulevard) through Ocala and Silver Springs (about 14 miles). After you pass through Silver Springs (you’ll notice a Theme Park on the Right), you will go over a long bridge. Shortly after the bridge, you will see a green sign that indicates Salt Springs is 18 miles to the Left. At the next light, make a Left onto County Road 314. There will be a Texaco gas station on the corner.

Continue on C.R. 314 for 18 miles.  The speed limit is 55 mph. It will start to feel as though you are going too far but you are not. You will know you are close to the Institute when, on the right-hand side, you will see a white sign for the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars). Behind the sign is a huge, silver rocket. At the same time you will see a sign indicating that the speed limit is reduced to 45 mph. If you look straight ahead on the Left, you can see the ornate brick fence around our property. Continue around the bend.

The Institute is on the left side of the road. As you pass an establishment on the Right named Cactus Jack’s you will see our Orange Yoga Flag on the mailbox (23855). Put on your left turn signal and slow down considerably to make a LEFT onto our paved driveway. You will pass through a large gate which says Oak Village and Private.

Make an immediate RIGHT into our informal parking area. Find a place to park and check in with Registration in the cabin closest to the lake.

From the North via I-95
As you approach Jacksonville on I-95, take 295 South around the city until you get to Exit 10 (old exit 3) to State Rd 17 South. Head south on SR 17/15 just before the town of Palatka (approx 35-40 miles), where you will turn right on Hwy 19 (still heading south—a school and large playground are located at the intersection). Hwy 19 takes you to Salt Springs (approximately 20 miles).

Go past Salt Springs Square (on your right) and a few small businesses. You will see the roads branch up ahead. Follow the sign to Ocala, which is West Hwy 314 (this road continues straight ahead. Do not bear left onto Route 19).

Continue about 1.6 miles (you will pass a gym and Groundhog Excavating Services) until you see a sign for Reis Pump Service on the right. You will be able to see a large white tent on the property, which is nestled behind an ornate brick fence with white globes on the pillars. Make a Right into our driveway, where you will see our Orange Yoga Flag on the mailbox (23855).

Find a parking space close to the fence once you check in. If you pass Cactus Jack’s bar on the left hand side, you went too far.

From the South via I-75
Take I-75 north and get off at Ocala exit 358 (state road 326). Turn right, heading east. Drive about 14 miles to the intersection of Highway 40. Turn left, go about 4 miles to NE County Road 314 (a light and two gas stations at Nuby’s Corner). Turn left (north). We are approximately 18 miles from this intersection. Continue on 314 for 18 miles.  The speed limit is 55 mph. It will start to feel as though you are going too far but you are not. You will know you are close to the Institute when, on the right-hand side, you will see a white sign for the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars). Behind the sign is a huge, silver rocket. Turn Left onto our paved driveway. You will pass through a large gate that says Oak Village and Private. Make an immediate RIGHT into our informal parking area.

From Daytona Beach
Take I-95 from either the South or the North to Daytona Beach area. Get off at the Highway 40 exit and head west for about 40 miles. At the light at SR 19, turn right toward Salt Springs for about 15 miles. As you reach the south end of Salt Springs you will see a road sign indicating a Stop Sign and a sharp left turn (almost a U turn) off of Route 19 onto Route 314. Turn left and go 1.7 miles. You will see a school bus sign on the right hand side. Beyond this sign you will see the ornate brick wall with white globes on the columns just past the Reis Pump Service sign. On the property you will see a large white tent. Our orange yoga flag will be on the mailbox (23855). If you pass Cactus Jack’s bar on the left hand side, you went too far.

Late Arrivals
Should you arrive after registration hours or after the first session begins, leave your belongings in your vehicle and quietly enter the Darshan Room (in the large building, on the left, beyond the white tent as you enter the property). See a staff member after the session who can direct you. You may need to complete the check-in process the following morning.

After 10p.m.: Staff members retire to their homes after the evening session. If your travel plans schedule does not allow you to arrive until after 10 p.m., it would be best to arrive the following morning. Please give us advance notice if you cannot arrive until the 2nd day of the program so we may communicate this to our teachers. Please note that no discounts or refunds are available for partial attendance of a program.

Parking is available along the south wall, to the right as you enter our gate. You may take the driveway to the Lodge to unload your personal belongings, then park your vehicle by the front wall. In front of the Lodge is for loading and unloading only.
