Certificate/Master’s Degree Program in Yoga Education
Items needed for each student opting for Hindu University of America Certificate/Master’s Degree:
1. Application for admission to HUA with the attachments as needed (resume,
transcripts and certificates for academic background) and a one-time $25 application
fee.
2. Registration forms for the two University Core Courses to be taken with HUA
in Orlando (Basic Sanskrit and Principles of Hinduism). These registration forms to be accompanied by course fees of $900 for
each of the 3-credit courses and a graduation fee of $100. Financial aid is available.
3. A ‘transcript’ listing the courses completed successfully at Amrit Yoga Institute.
You may inquire about transcripts via email here. This transcript will include course title and number, date/period completed,
instructors, and the grade obtained for each course. (We acknowledge
that A.Y.I. will be assigning Pass/Fail or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grades
for each of the courses listed).
4. Copies of the theses written by students and evaluated by Amrit Yoga Institute
staff for YED 6201; Dissertation - 6,000 words (3 credits) and YED 6301;
Dissertation – 7,500 word (3 credits) for Level I and Level II of the training
respectively. These research papers will need to be reviewed and approved by HUA.
Dissertation Topics (Choose one):
I. Subject I:
What is Amrit Yoga in theory and in practice?
Where did it originate and where is it intended to take us?
How is it related to Patanjali’s 8-limbed path of yoga?
What distinguishes it from other modern practices of yoga?
How it reconnects you to the true depth of yoga - not just on the yoga mat, but
in life.
Give examples of how we use the principles of Amrit Yoga on the yoga mat.
Give examples of how the principles learned in Amrit Yoga apply to life.
II. Subject II:
What is the origin of Amrit Yoga? What is its purpose?
What are the three stages of Amrit Yoga? Explain the theory of each stage.
Use diagrams or other tools if necessary. Discuss the core integrative principles
as they relate to each stage.
Discuss the specific techniques used to translate these core integrative principles
into practice on the yoga mat.
Explain how the core integrative principles and the accompanying techniques
fulfill the purpose of the practice of yoga.
III. Subject III:
Use your own experience with yoga and Amrit Yoga to describe what yoga is,
how (based on your experience) Amrit Yoga fulfills the purpose of the practice
of yoga and how it can cause major, lasting shifts in your life.

Correspondence Course: Sanskrit $900
Correspondence Course: Principle of Hinduism $900
Graduation fee $100
Total $1925
(Tuition, fees and curriculum are subject to revision periodically.)
Other Expenses
It is the responsibility of a student to spend money on purchase of relevant texts and study materials as these are not included in the tuition costs. An estimate of the cost of the text and other needed materials is available from the respective departments upon request.
Payment Procedure
All payments, through checks or money orders should be in the name of Hindu University of America, mailed to the University address or submitted to the University cashier. You can also pay your fees online using a MasterCard, Visa or Discover credit card.
Tuition Refund Policy
Refunds are available to students who have withdrawn from the University. The withdrawal date shall be determined by the appropriate University Official in the Office of the Registrar. Refunds upon dismissal or suspension are the same as for voluntary withdrawal and are based on the following:
