Thank you for your interest in becoming an Amrit Yoga sponsor! It is a wonderful commitment to continued education - for you, for those connected to Gurudev, and those who want to learn more. This letter is intended to give you a general idea of what sponsoring Kamini, Bhakti or Chandrakant would involve.
As Gurudev begins to enter his own sadhana, his vision is to create a team of teachers who have studied with him indepth and who can carry on his work in their own right. Through our outreach program, these selected teachers will bring the teachings to areas where Gurudev has already been as well as to new locations supported by strongly connected individuals.
Sponsorship for a workshop includes:
- gathering a group of 20+ people. (We can help with names from our database)
- finding an appropriate space to hold the event. (Yoga studio or large space)
- taking registrations/payments. (We can give you a sample form.)
- publicizing/promoting the event. (We have flyers and press releases)
You and one of our teachers will decide the length of the program (evening, day or weekend), the content, timing, program description and price.
Concerning finances:
- The sponsor deducts all expenses (maximum amount agreed upon ahead of time); including the teacher’s travel expenses from the gross income.
- You, as the sponsor, will receive 30% of income after expenses. (Some sponsors choose to forego this percentage as a tax-deductible donation).
- The remainder is divided among the institute and the senior teacher.
If this sounds right for you, these are your next steps:
- Email info@amrityoga.org.
- Modini will give the teacher your contact information and together the two of you can decide on the topic, the length and the date. If you’d like to invite more than one teacher in a year’s time, that would be possible.
- Once the date, topic and length have been set, details such as shop materials, brochures, promotional materials, etc. will be provided by the institute as usual. It is our intention to increase our effectiveness in supporting our sponsors with promotional materials such as free giveaway CDs, press releases and stock articles for newspapers. All programs will be listed on the Amrit Yoga website and in our 2006 calendar.
To get maximum exposure for your event, we would like to have sponsors set dates with teachers by November 2005. This will allow us to put all programs in one yearly 2006 calendar, which will get the most nationwide distribution. It also gives us ample time to promote the event and get optimal attendance.
I look forward to hearing from you and carrying on the commitment to truth and wisdom in our lives that Gurudev has brought to us. Now it is up to us to carry it on.
Jai Bhagwan,
Kamini
