From Kamini Desai
Director, Amrit Yoga Teacher Training
It is with great pleasure that
we invite you to participate in the Level II Amrit
Yoga Teacher Training. This program teaches you
how to deliver powerful energetic breakthroughs
to your students.
In Level II, the dynamic first
half of the pose is held, purifying and stilling
the mind and creating a very strong pranic buildup.
When the prolonged holding is released, pranic
impulses and urges emerge spontaneously and effortlessly
- directing our movements from within. This allows
us to follow the guidance coming directly from
the voice of prana - eventually leading us to
the experience of prana awakening where this intelligence
fully guides the movements of the body while the
mind takes a back seat. This is the state in which
the ancient yogis originally experienced poses
emerging from within in the forms we now know
as Hatha Yoga. It is also the experience that
Gurudev had in 1970 that led him to develop Kripalu
Yoga and Amrit Yoga.

Combined with his own personal
knowledge, direct experience, and the power
of the Kundalini lineage, Gurudev has developed
a system that takes us step by step to the
original core experience from which all postures
originate- prana awakening. This system is
laid out clearly and simply by myself, our
co-director and anatomy expert, Eric Walrabenstein
and Senior Instructor, Chandrakant (John Heister).
The senior teachers will show you how to bring
your own practice toward the awakening of
prana as well as instruction, practice and
discussion on the elements involved in bringing
these ancient teachings into the world in
a way that is practical and applicable - a
natural evolution and continuation of Level
I Amrit Yoga. |
As a teacher and a practitioner,
you know that many of us have practiced yoga for
many years and yet have not received the guidance
that can bring us to prana awakening. To have
such guidance delivered in a clear, step-by-step,
reproducible and teachable manner is a precious
gift to be able to receive for yourself and to
give to others. Don't miss this very special opportunity.

Before
practicing Amrit Yoga Level II devoted a lot of
time to ruminating about the past. I spent even
more time projecting into the future. The present
received virtually no attention. It took place
absentmindedly, occasionally serving as an irritating
reminder of what I had failed to achieve, or of
how little time I had left to prepare for tomorrow.
Enter sadhana-being present on the mat and to
myself, the techniques of Amrit Yoga and an hour
a day of focused practice.
My life began to change
or, I should say, I began to change and my life
followed suit. The past and the future have withdrawn
from the stage of my awareness. I have begun to
focus on life where it is happening - in the present.
Everything has become simpler. I no longer waste
time reworking the past. I let it stand. I spend
less time worrying about the future. It has yet
to take place, so why conjure up eventualities
that may never occur? I now attend more to the
present. What a difference that has made! I live
with less stress. I listen better and the people
around me are more appreciative. More important,
I see and feel more. Life has become much richer
than before.

The Level II experience clearly
consolidated all the teachings that I have been
studying and working toward living since beginning
my formal yogic journey seven years ago. I now
recognize that my whole life has been teaching
me to live the yogic path. I felt prior to the
Level II that I was a pretty good teacher. I was,
at times, able to live the yamas and niyamas.
Now the experience of teaching and living is truly
effortless-effort. Of course, the journey continues
to be lived and practiced. So much more lies ahead.
The enthusiasm for it continues to grow.
