A Guided 20 Minute Amrit Yoga Practice
Simple and easy. Use this experience to break the momentum of stress, give yourself a stretch, and return to what needs to be done with a renewed sense of well-being- in just 20 minutes!
All you need is:
- a comfortable place to sit
- a bit of floorspace in front of you
- the intention to allow yourself this time for you
This practice draws your focused attention to body, breath and mind, using seated awareness, standing postures, breathwork and yoga nidra. It is portable. Use it at work, at home or any place you find appropriate.
(recorded at Level 1 Teacher Training, June 2011)

Listen to Veda's Gentle Yoga Practice
Welcome to a gentle one hour Amrit Yoga class.
Please sit in a comfortable chair, without arms, to begin your practice.
- We will move from seated relaxations and seated warm-up stretches to carefully guided standing postures.
- If you plan to stand up for these, you may wish to place a yoga mat in front of your chair before you begin. If you wish to remain seated, follow the instructions, as best you can, from your chair.
- This practice concludes back in your chair, with a brief Amrit Yoga Nidra experience. Remain in this meditative state for as long as you wish.
- Recall the intention of this practice. Pay careful attention. Move as skillfully as your body allows today. Use breath and awareness to maintain and/or move back into evenness of mind.
- And please join me, before we begin, in thanking Yogi Desai and his teachers for this gift they have given us.
